Surf's Up: How Amazon Alexa and WakeU Can Teach You How to Wakeboard

One of the best things about smart and connected technology: using it to teach people new things in new ways. For instance, did you know that you may soon be able to use Amazon Alexa to learn how to wakeboard? Consider WakeU powered by Amazon Alexa.

Learn How to Wakeboard with Amazon Alexa and WakeU

Bluefin Technology Partners recently worked with WakeU to help create WakeU powered by Amazon Alexa. During the project, we collaborated with Mike Dowdy, a former World Champion, Masters Champion, and X-Games Bronze Medalist with more than two decades of wakeboarding experience.

With the WakeU Alexa skill, anyone can access 24/7 wakeboard coaching via their smart and connected device. To use the skill, a wakeboarder only needs to:

  • Submit a voice command to open the skill on their smart and connected device

  • Indicate their wakeboarding skill level

  • Explain what he or she wants to learn (like how to perform an ollie, tail grab, or other wakeboarding tricks)

  • Receive wakeboarding guidance, tips, and recommendations from Dowdy

In addition to providing wakeboarders with expert insights while they are getting ready to ride the waves, the WakeU Alexa skill lets users access wakeboard coaching from Dowdy via their Amazon Fire TV stick. So, a user can access the skill on a TV via their Amazon Fire TV stick, view wakeboarding video tutorials from Dowdy, and learn how to wakeboard from virtually anywhere.

WakeU powered by Amazon Alexa is expected to become available in January. In the meantime, we encourage you to check out this WakeU Alexa skill video.

Of course, any organization can build and launch an Alexa skill that educates, informs, and inspires consumers. At Bluefin, we are happy to meet with you, learn about your organization, and craft a plan to help you design, develop, and launch an Alexa skill that consumers can enjoy now and in the future.
